“YOUR TIME HAS COME” by Karen Roth
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.… He has made everything beautiful in its time…” ~ ECCLESIASTES 3:1, 11
God said, “…all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” So why is CHANGE so difficult? If God sees it as part of the beautiful process of maturing in our purpose, why do we respond to change as though something is wrong with us?
Change is normal in nature. The ferocious bear lies dormant throughout the winter months and is not at all embarrassed when he awakens in spring. Birds instinctively fly south for winter and never think it pointless to return and repeat the process. Autumn trees shed their leaves and lie dormant through winter only to start their progression to glory all over again in spring. Even the caterpillar will crawl for months oblivious to any danger, yet intuitively know when to attach itself to a branch and hide.
= A TIME TO TRANSFORM
Consider the caterpillar. It neither fears tomorrow, nor lives in past hurts. A caterpillar faithfully fulfills its destiny everyday by accomplishing what it knows to do. When its days of hiding are completed, it emerges as an exquisite butterfly.
The STRUGGLE of the butterfly to break through the confines of the cocoon forces fluids into the shriveled wings… strengthening the wings to fly.
Even though the transformation process was accomplished while the butterfly was hidden—it’s the cocoon wall that prevented its purpose from manifesting. What once was its protection and lifeline outlived its usefulness—becoming a bondage that jeopardizes its future potential. The butterfly must break through the confines of the cocoon to fly.
= A TIME TO EMERGE
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.” ~ 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18.
We need adversity to EMERGE from our cocoons. That means there’s CONFLICT in overcoming. The struggle to move in heavenly places causes an unveiling of some form of covering that outlived its purpose. Our challenges become part of the process that takes us from “glory to glory.” It’s the little word ‘to‘ in “glory-to-glory” that encompasses our whole Christian walk—the breaking out of one level of glory (that was originally for our good) to step into another … and we progress towards becoming the mature Body of Christ.
Emerging from the cocoon becomes a vital step in the progression to glory. We want to be free from what hinders us from fulfilling God’s call on our life. We cannot rush the process to completion, nor can we eliminate it. It’s only in God’s time that we give birth to our purpose.
The wicked one would eliminate the final stage of transition/change in us. He cares little about what’s hidden. But if we’re fearful of change—we’ll fail to birth fruit from our labors; or walk in the full potential of our purpose. We’ll be afraid to do anything.
= THE TIME TO ‘PRESS’ BEYOND
“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” PHILIPPIANS 3:14
In the Old Testament, they PRESSED their way into the Tabernacle. Likewise, if we want to see beyond the veil, we must ‘press’ through our fears. Unless we move past our comfort zone, we remain the same. It’s only those who break through, who are able to move into a higher realms of purpose.
Everything created goes through transition easily and expectantly as a NORMAL PART of life. We all understand the importance of CHANGE, but we may find it difficult and/or confusing. Maybe it’s because we don’t see the significance of each SEASON of life.
Breaking through hindrances exposes pivotal points in our development. God prepares or endows us for the struggle that’s meant to give wings to our purpose. If we strengthen the wings of our faith, we build spiritual muscle to ‘press’ beyond—empowering us to walk in a greater measure of purpose.
= YOUR TIME HAS COME
For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. ~ROMANS 8:22
The many membered Body of Christ, struggles to be birthed—only the veil covering is the womb of the Church. What can you do to expand your wings, and EXPERIENCE fulfilling your purpose in the Corporate Body of Christ?
“For the whole creation stands on tiptoe to see the sons of God come into their own.” Are you “coming into your own?” If 2016 is the Jewish year of Jubilee, then maybe it’s symbolic that your time has come to be restored to what God called over you before the creation of the Earth.
God “…made everything beautiful in its time.” If you recognize your beauty and magnificence of purpose—congratulations! Your time has come!
