“WHO HAS THE CAPACITY TO RECEIVE AND WHAT CAN BE RECEIVED?” by Christo Coetzer
John 3:27 – John answered, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.”
Through our generational father Papa Mark and his generation sons to whom I have been given by grace, I have received many treasures. Foundational truths, line upon line and precept upon precept were given me in preparation of the purpose to which God has sent me, but greater than this is the corporate purpose He is working in us. In whatever we are given we should know that it was not given unto them, but to us.
What we have been given, was given for a godly purpose. It was given us that it may produce something in us.
Revelation 10:10 – I took the small scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, it was bitter in my stomach.
What we have received regarding the kingdom and to move onto perfection is sweet in our mouths, we have an appetite for it. But it is in the stomach where what we have partaken of needs to be processed and digested. Substance needs to be produced. This is the bitter part, because it requires much of us. It requires our submission, correction, ordering, laying down of ourselves, dying to self, but it is given to bring us to perfection.
The saying goes, you are what you eat. What we partake of is given to us to build us up to bring to fulfilment the purpose of the word God has given us.
Gen 1:11-12 – And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:29 – And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.
These scriptures from Genesis already establishes an order. There existed a capacity ordained by God in the earth which would simply respond to the word of God. When God spoke in Genesis 1:11, that which He has placed in the earth according to His purpose responded and yielded vegetation, plants yielding seeds and fruit trees.
Likewise, we have been given this capacity to receive the word of God and respond, but others did not receive this portion. The first plants came to being at the word of the Lord, those that followed came through that which has responded to the word of God and yielded seed to produce to its kind. Those to whom it was not given, do not have the capacity to receive that which we have been given by grace. They can only receive through us, not what we have received, but what is produced through what we have received.
This order we see in Genesis 1:29 – God gave to man as food fruit with seed in it. This speaks about us having the capacity to receive the word of God purposed for us, and not to try and give that to others, but that they would partake of the fruit produced through us as a result of what we have received by grace. It is not seed that are pleasant to eat, but the fruit. It is not the seed that is desirable to the eye, but the fruit that is good to look at and to partake of.
We have been given from heaven the grace to receive from the mouth of God, but others have been given us by the measure of grace they have received. Our purpose is not to convert the church by trying to impart to them what we have received, in fact they do not have the capacity to receive what we have received.
We are a first fruit. The root, the tree and the fruit does not look the same even though they are of the same kind. What we have been given by grace is purposed to produce glory that abounds, a root, a tree and a fruit. This results in a perpetual cycle, because the fruit carries the fullness of what God purposed. It carries the first, the seed and the last the fruit. And it will produce to its kind according to the purpose and grace God has sent it.
Most certainly there are those given to you who have also received from heaven by grace the capacity to hear what God says. They have been given you to bring them to maturity for the work of their ministry – you have begotten them through faith.
We should not be proud in what we have received by grace and forget that it was not by our own doing. God has purposed a remnant, a people birthed from faith as the true offspring of Abraham so that the scripture that says in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed may come to pass.
Philippians 2:3-11 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
What the seed of the word in us should produce is to be emptied of ourselves, be a servant, let God be found in our human form. It is at the revelation of God through our humanity that they will bow their knee will bow and confess with their tongue, that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. These bowing their knees and confessing with their tongues are not doing so by force. God is not in a power struggle; God conquers by conquering the heart. Else there would always be a rebellion. At the revelation of Christ through us those who could not receive the words given to form Christ in us, will be able to receive the appearing of Christ through us.
We have been given a lamp for our feet and a light on our path that we may enter into the fullness of day. In the holy city there is no night, no darkness, nothing hidden. It is the bride of Jesus that is the holy city, it is from this city where the light shining out of Zion is the very light that has come to be revealed in us. The kingdom of God is in you! If we do not discover the kingdom in us and enter into the fulness of day, who will be their light, how would they find their way, how will the glory of the knowledge of God cover the earth as the waters cover the sea, how would all be saved and come to the knowledge of truth if we do not realise the purpose of what has been given to us?
Hebrews 5:8-10 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
The body of Christ cannot be anything else than what Jesus is. If I only see your ear, I might not be able to recognise that ear as yours, but seeing your whole body, I can recognise you. All together we are lovely. We as members of the body of Christ makes the fullness of Christ. This is why Paul writes that he makes up that which is lacking in the affliction of Christ. Did Christ then not suffer enough, no, He is only the head, we are the body. What we have to endure completes that which is lacking in the whole body. As we overcome that glory and honour and power that is revealed through the working of God in us, adds that portion of glory and honour and power to Him in which we are. All glory and honour and power belongs unto Him, but there is a dimension of glory and honour and power in us that becomes His as He is revealed in us. It is for this reason that we will do greater works than what Christ did. The purpose to which Jesus came was that all things may be reconciled back unto God through Him. This ministry of reconciliation was given to us. This is the greater work that we will bring to fulfillment this ultimate purpose to which God has sent Him.
Likewise, being made perfect, moving onto perfection, we also become the source of eternal salvation, be also become the eternal priesthood after the order of Melchizedek. It is not about us, but about Christ through us. Being in Him we cannot be anything other than Him. If the fullness of God was pleased to dwell in Him, so is God pleased that His fullness dwell in every part, in every member in the body of Christ.
The stream of living waters that shall flow from our bellies (the belly being the place where what we partook of is processed and gains substance), is the same stream of living water that flows from the midst of the holy city.
Since the onset of creation, the word of God was sent to create. So is it also with us. The word of God that we have received were not given to us to pass on to those who have not received the capacity to do so, but that the word given us would create something in us that would bring forth the appearing of Christ through us to a world longing for Him. They are not desires of the seed, but of the fruit. They are craving something they do not know, but they cannot say what it is because it has never been in the earth.
To us it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. To us were given the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Sons have keys to their father’s house. These keys were given so that we can bind things in the earth and loosen things in the earth and it will be done in heaven. This speaks of us having the ability to bind things up in righteousness, to establish them, to make them firm in heaven and earth and to loosen, to open up, to release the things of the kingdom.
To you it has been given, but not to them. Eternity has been set in their hearts, ready and longing for what they do not know, the appearing of Christ through you.
I bring to remembrance the words of the prophecy shared in the writing of article by Karen Roth titled “Holy Spirit in you is everything”.
“… receive My fresh anointing. From today and forward there will be a new wine pouring in you and you will feel strength and renewed purpose…out of you will come the operation of the miraculous… an …unveiling of the storerooms of heaven that you see and know what is available and what is doable…
“Today My Warriors stand clothed and anointed—ready to move in bold strength and power of the Divine. The coal from the ‘altar of sacrifice’ has touched your lips and anointed you to speak to your neighbor, your family, and your co-workers about Me…and WHAT I am doing, WHO I am and WHY you know My Holy Spirit in you is everything you need to…” ~ PROPHECY: FEB 5, 2023 (excerpts)
… but God didn’t finish the last sentence. I set it aside. Two days later I heard someone pause for everyone to add their personal requests. Then I understood that God ‘paused’ for us to “ask what He shall give us” so we can finish the sentence by speaking WHAT God is doing, Who He is, and Why His Holy Spirit in us is everything we need to testify to our neighbors, family, and co-workers.”
Let this word not pass us by not realising what God is saying while we are looking to the horizon for the next thing. Let this be stones on an altar of remembrance that this thing may be bound up in us, made firm in us, established unshakable in us.
Wear this as a headband as a reminder of your name, your nature in godly purpose, tie it on your wrist to guide your actions.
Surely the Lord is in this place, and we know it.
What we will ask according to the will of God is a sign of our readiness to yield fruit. It is the question, and the longing, and the key required to open that portal for the kingdom to come in us as it is in heaven. If there is not a coming of the kingdom in us, how will it come to our world?
There is more in us than the word, the word was given to us to bring forth the light and the life of the kingdom.
To us this marvellous thing has been given that the glory of the knowledge of God may cover the earth. Thank you Jesus!
