THUNDERING HOOVES OF 10,000 HORSES! by Karen A Roth
(Elisha warned the king of Israel of Syria’s plan of attack so Israel could counterattack and win)
“Then the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled… which of you is for the king of Israel? One of his servants said, ‘None my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom… (the king of Syria) said …get him…
“And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots.” ~2 KINGS 6
Elisha’s servant said, “Oh, master, what will we do now?” They were surrounded by enemy troops, horses, and chariots. What could the two of them do against so many?
The servant saw the situation correctly, the enemy army surrounded the two of them. But Elisha asked God to open his servant’s eyes, so he could see how God takes charge of what’s happening. God let Elisha’s servant know He’s capable to take care of every situation—regardless of how impossible it appears.
It’s important to fully grasp the reality that God’s Presence remains with us whether we see it or not. It’s never a problem for God. Our difficulties become a window of opportunity for us to witness the miraculous in operation.
= O LORD, NOW OPEN HIS EYES
“What then shall we say in response to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
~ ROMANS 8:31
God’s Presence is with us. “So, don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are against us.” Elisha had been the prodigy of the prophet Elijah. He learned that Elijah ran from Jezebel in a similar fearful moment because he too saw himself all alone. Elijah believed that no other prophet remained in Israel until God showed him the bigger picture. Elisha shares with his prodigy how he learned to ‘see’ God from his father in ministry.
Elisha prayed for his servant to see the spiritual realm, so he’d learn to be confident in God’s strength. God allowed Elisha’s servant to see the divine protection and provision available.
But Elisha also asked God to make the Syrians blind—that they would ‘blindly’ follow him into Samaria. A contrast is drawn between ‘Spiritual Insight’ that allows Elisha’s servant to ‘see’ the Heavenly Host protecting them and ‘Spiritual Blindness’ in the enemy that blinds, confuses and makes them unable to identify even natural landmarks.
= WHEN GOD GETS OUR ATTENTION
The angel of the Lord encamps around the those who fear Him, and He delivers them. ~PS 34:7
Be strong and courageous. Don’t be terrified because of them. For the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. ~DEUTERONOMY 31:6
…I will never fail you or abandon you. ~ HEBREWS 13:5b NLT
I stood alongside a distressed and troubled heart; my heart was drawn to pray …but no words came forth—only tears. I felt like Elisha’s servant, praying, “Oh, Lord, what will we do now?” I felt totally inept and dismayed at another’s difficulty. In my grief, I raised my arms to heaven and asked God to allow me to pull down the miraculous power of God—nothing less than the supernatural power of God would do… and I desperately needed to feel it now.
I seemed ‘in time’—traveling back to witness what Elisha’s servant experienced. “And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” In a vision, 10,000 horses go forth, their swords shining brightly …the floor shook from the thundering hooves that energized the room.
It’s a scary picture when we see natural disasters, corruptions in the world, sicknesses of our loved ones, etc. But, we’re not seeing the whole picture. God holds our attention. Just like Elisha helped his servant, Jesus sets us up to witness the miraculous. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Therefore, as we interpret the phenomenon happening, we likewise participate and enter into the divine restoration—the plan of God for this Age!
= THE MIRACULOUS POWER OF GOD
The moment I asked God if I could pull down the spiritual realm, He opened my spiritual eyes. I felt I was standing on a launching pad. From where I stood, I saw/heard the thundering hooves of 10,000 charging horses going out in every direction with flashing swords… as though from that prayer portal, God sent out the Heavenly Host to conquer every foe. God’s Angel Army released His Power in the Earth—an anointing to break every bondage, sickness, even death!
Until God opened my eyes to see and sense the spiritual energy of the Heavenly Host, I viewed the situation through my lack—my inability. But, that’s not how God wants us to see His miraculous power. God opened my eyes to ‘see,’ and I ‘felt’ energized/empowered to go forth and overcome in His Body and in His Name.
Just as Elisha asked God to open his servant’s eyes to see the army of Heavenly Hosts—God opened my eyes to see the supernatural. He wants us to witness/interpret what’s really happening. We’re not alone, nor inept to go forth in the power of His Name. This is the Power of His Presence—the Providence of God. God allows us to see His ever-available provision and resources.
= ELISHA’S POWER BECOMES OURS!
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. ~DEUTERONOMY 29:29
We participate like Elisha… an anointed son in ministry. There were other sons of the prophets in Israel, but only Elisha pleaded for the double portion. No one else even considered the possibility. Something happens in our day that’s all God… all miraculous like the first coming was ushered in by an ‘Elijah’ (John the Baptist).
A mantle passed through the generations. God called David “a man after My own heart, who will do all my will.” Jesus is called priest/king—like his father, David. If our heart searches for God’s heart and totally surrendered to His purpose, we too will take up the mantle as joint heirs with Jesus.
God released the Heavenly Hosts. We receive the double anointing, the Christ Anointing as priest/king after the order of Melchizedek. We see into the heavens…see the Angel Armies…and most importantly, we’re empowered to minister in miracles, signs and wonders. We’re not alone!
Go forth in the Power of His Presence—the Providence of God in you to win!
