THE GLORIOUS BODY OF CHRIST: by Christo Coetzer
Dear Saint, while others are looking up for something to happen from above, Kingdom people look within to see how Spirit comes through the Body. The Body, or also known as the Church, Saints or Members becomes the glorious entrance or return of Christ to the world that He so dearly loves.
THE STRUCTURE OF HIS BODY
Ephesians 4:15
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,
Ephesians 4:16
from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
In our natural body we have different organs, limbs, senses and various systems responsible for the body to function and even to heal itself. Some of the members of my natural body don’t even relate to one another; for example, the nose can in no way relate to what the ears are sensing. The amazing thing is that even though they may not relate to one another they are all in service to me as the head of my body and in service to one another. None of the members of my physical body has its function, purpose or being outside of my body. It is only when they are each giving themselves in service to my body that I can function to my ability. If I was given in the body of Christ as part of the heart, then my personal purpose and ministry cannot be anything else than the function of the heart to which I belong. In proper order under my spiritual authority, I do not have a personal ministry, but have been given a personal function that is purposed towards the accomplishment of the mandate of the authority under which I have been placed. Everything that the corporate body is and might be lies within the body and the purpose of the body is greater and overrules our individual purpose. The body can only function if the members of the body are giving themselves to the purpose of the body and to one another.
If I want to get up and walk, there is no hesitation from my body, it responds immediately. When a thought originates from the depths of our being and there is agreement with that thought, the body immediately manifests the will. We serve in the body of Christ by being in service to one another, by being in submission to one another and by interacting with one another. It is only when the members of the body are in service to the body that the body is in service of Christ. This is the place of readiness from where the body can perform the will of God.
John 3:27 (ESV) John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. In our environment, we may experience light and sound and aromas, but light was given to be received by the eyes, sound by the ears and aromas by the nose. When we consider this in everything given to us, the good and the bad, know that it is given to you from heaven for the glorious purpose of the body of Christ. That means that you have received a portion of grace to deal with it, you have been designed to receive it as a portal in the body according to divine appointment. All things experienced by the members of the body is dealt with by the body and needs to bring forth light and life and love.
THE LIFE OF THE BODY
Love abounds when we consider the goodness of God towards us. The revelation and consideration of His goodness becomes the life-force inside of us. It is His goodness that brings about a change in our hearts, and that leads us to repentance. Considering the goodness of God unlocks the hidden treasures, reveals more about His nature, and when we see His revealed nature, we are changed to that likeness. When He appears, it is in His goodness that He appears. Repentance is the continual process whereby we are changed and perfected by the goodness of God revealed unto us. It is the process of the renewal of our minds and it can only be brought about when we consider His goodness. We are transformed from glory to glory by His goodness and since God dwells in glory, His manifestation increases as His glory in us abounds. His goodness revealed and expressed through His body is the gospel that conquers hearts. The gospel or the good news preached by Jesus focused on the Kingdom of Heaven, the gospel preached by apostles focused on the cross and what Christ did for us. Paul in his writings often refers to his message as the gospel according to me. His gospel revealed certain mysteries which he gave to the church. The same can be said of Moses when He saw all the goodness of God passing before him, he shared that gospel at the time with us and revealed things hidden in God to us. The gospel in fact is all of the goodness of God that has been revealed to us.
There is a portion of the goodness of God that has been hidden for you that needs to be searched out by you so that you can bring that portion given to you to the body. It is through that message already inside of you that God wants to reach those given to you. It is the message of His goodness revealed to you that will enter into hearts and will be received by those God has given it unto to receive. They will recognize His voice and respond to it. As light is given to be received by the eyes, so have you been given a portion from heaven which only you can receive in service to the body of Christ.
THE CHRIST TO HIS WORLD
The body of Christ is the supreme authority appointed by God, to bring to manifestation the works of God. In fact, the only reason why we can interact with one another and experience one another is because we have bodies. You are not your body, but you live and move and have your being inside your natural body. This is the purpose of the body of Christ as well, that there may be an experience of God and an interaction with God through His body. So, great was the plan of God when He created everything that He intended to do all of His work through His body. God has created all things through Christ and without Him, nothing was created. Jesus says only what He hears the Father say and He does what he sees the Father do, He is in complete submission to the will of the Father. We were with God before He created the heavens and the earth, and more than this, we were in Christ when He chose us according His purpose and grace. It was in Christ that we always had our position and being and purpose as His body. The words that spoke creation into being originated from the Father and Christ in agreement and submission to the Father spoke those words through the utterances of His body into being. “Let there be light” was spoken by the body of Christ and the universe responded. The earth recognizes the authority of the sons of God and longs for the revelation of them once again in this age.
The age we find ourselves in is a very significant age unlike anything that has been before. It is an age that will bring about things of which the concept did not even exist outside of God until the moment it comes into being. Just like there was no concept of light until God uttered those words into the darkness. The age we find ourselves in is an age that differs as much from the previous as light does from darkness and as much as a seed differs from a tree. These things will be made manifest through the body of Christ. The Father and Jesus makes their habitation in the body of Christ and becomes one flesh with it according to the patterns relating to marriage. As His body, we need to express His goodness, do His works and make the declarations given by His Spirit.
When the body steps up, the head is lifted higher. True exultation of Christ comes through His body stepping up, living, moving and having their being as the manifested Christ.
I encourage you to be of the same manner of the spirit as Christ, He came as a life-giving spirit and as His body we need to manifest His life.
With much love,
Christo Coetzer
