At the behest of my spiritual papa in the earth, Dr. Mark Hanby, I now write this letter to everyone in the body of Christ who is spiritually discontented and not sure where to turn or where they are going.
The modern church has been trapped in a maze of man’s religion for so many years that she has lost contact with the Spirit of God and seems blocked in at every turn. Everyone seems to have the same questions like, “How can I hear God and what do I need to be doing?” What is the next step in our walk with God?
For those who have had this going on inside of them, I have good news. This divine discontentment is from our Lord and He is in the process of leading us out of the maze that has bewildered us for so long a time, and only has a form of godliness but has no power working in it.
Jesus once said to His disciples – ‘without me, you can do nothing.’ This is a great clue to what our next step should be. Since He is the one who will be leading us out so that He can bring us back in (into order) we should with faith and patience, wait upon the kingdom. This doesn’t mean that we should sit idly by twiddling our thumbs as the world turns on. But we should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
We should be examining ourselves to see that we are in the faith. Putting everything that we believe on trial for its life is one way to start. Trusting the Spirit of God that is in the heart of every Christian and the unction that He gives is the only way to find fulfillment and our destiny. Killing “Holy” cows is one of the hardest things that one will ever do, but it is so necessary if we are to progress onward and upward in God.
We pray for God to come down and do something for us, but God has already done all that he is ever going to do (for us) and is at rest. Our greatest challenge is to “come up hither” into a realm of the spirit so that we can see what God has already finished in the heavens and then boldly decree the thing in the earth thereby giving it license to come to pass in our lives.
We can get as close to God as we are willing to get. God isn’t holding us back. Our own fears and strongholds that have been forged into our minds are keeping us from receiving what God has already provided for us. We know from the Scriptures that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Let me tell you how the strongholds get established in our minds and thereby control our lives.
First we have a thought that is contrary to what God has said. If we don’t immediately dismiss this thought by Scripture and then give voice to the thought by saying something about it, this thought becomes the seed for an attitude to develop that is ungodly or un-God-like.
When we get a certain attitude about something, it will begin to develop a belief system within our hearts. It will grow like an embryo in a womb over time until it comes to full term and when it is birthed, it comes out of the womb as a belief system.
When the belief system is established in our hearts, it then becomes a stronghold that will begin to order our conversation, or the way we talk. Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. He went on to say that a good man out of the good treasure brings forth good things and an evil man from the evil treasure brings forth evil things. So, the treasure of the heart is what a man or woman believes. It can be good or evil.
Is the way we speak very important? Absolutely! Our manner of speech sets in motion the course of nature and is set on fire of hell. (James 3:6) Because the Lord gave man dominion on the earth, then our words in reality go into the unseen spirit world, secures the things that we have spoken from the abundance of our hearts, and brings them into manifestation in time. This can be good or it can be evil. From the same fountain comes bitter water and sweet. From the same fountain comes blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
I know that this is true. Jesus said that if a man says unto this mountain, depart, and be cast into the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes what he says will come to pass, then he shall have whatsoever he says.
God has been teaching us to talk ever since we were babies. God, who calls things that be not as though they were, gives us example after example in His Word. ‘Let the weak say, I am strong’. ‘Let the poor say, I am rich.’
By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. In like manner, our world is framed by the words that are proceeding out of our mouth. With God (directing our speech) all things are possible. Maybe that is why we should be quick to hear, and slow to speak. We should speak only what we hear the Father say. Can we get to the place where we only do what we see the Father do? I believe that we can and will as we are being led by the Spirit of God.
Remembering with utmost care, that our faith works by love, we should forget the things that are behind us and look toward the things that are before us, and press into the Kingdom of God with a singleness of heart, a true humility, worshiping God and loving every man without prejudice with an abounding love that can never fail.
Trust the Spirit of God that is within you and follow every little pressing on your heart as he leads and guides you into all truth and into an everlasting Kingdom that shall never be removed. It is not going to be by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
I, your brother, Dickey, long to see you and my joy is to hear that you walk in truth.
