GOD FILLS THE VOID Part II by Karen A Roth
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. The Earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. GENESIS 1:1-2
The scripture says that the Earth was without form and void—but not the Heavens. God’s pattern is already established in the Heavens to be fulfilled on Earth.
God made mankind as spiritual beings within a physical form to be birthed at the appointed time He chose. Something in us still quickens at “the fullness of time” or at “such a time as this” because we sense a readiness to give birth to what God’s formed in us.
The Creator formed us to be like Him. He created by manifesting His thoughts. We’re a piece of His Creative Force by virtue of emerging from His thoughts. Since we’re created in His image, the same potential to create resides in us. God measured part of His nature to us—giving us His ‘dumamis’ power to create on Earth what He’s already patterned in the Heavens.
= GOD CAUSED A VOID
God chose to redeem mankind after their disobedience. First, He created a ‘void’ by casting Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. Noah built an ark to float above the ‘void’ or empty space God caused to cover the Earth. Abraham left his father’s homeland and his inheritance to travel into the ‘void’ or wilderness place where God visited him and promised to make him a father of many nations.
The children of Israel also made an exodus into a ‘void’ or wilderness place. That’s where God first instructed Israel in how to create a ‘void’ or holy place for Him to dwell with them on Earth.
God also used 400 years of silence to create another type of ‘void’ by generating a hunger and thirst for the Word of God. Jesus was the Word made flesh—through His surrender He began the transition that would one day fill the Earth again with the glory of God.
= CREATING A VOID
The Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters to create a ‘void’ or atmosphere to work in. If we create an inner ‘void’ or space, then the Spirit hovers over us too and we’ll begin to sense the empowerment of His superpowers awakening in us.
There may be times we sense a ‘void’—a total emptiness that can only be filled by God. We can be with our family and loved ones yet feel a longing for Him. We feel an inner ‘void’ or wilderness place.
Sensing a ‘void’ implies a maturity that’s aware of His holy place or habitation within. It indicates our readiness for experiencing new possibility and opportunity in our life.
= A HOLY HABITATION
So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall proper in the thing for which I sent it. ~ ISAIAH 55:11
Abraham was not hesitant or doubtful that the promise of an heir would happen. He expected it—he believed God would accomplish exactly what He promised. We too can change the future for our family or nation if we align to God. At moments like these, God hovers over our ‘void’ or holy habitation to communicate His purpose and/or quicken our spiritual superpowers to act according to His plan.
Those born physically or spiritually of Abraham were blessed throughout their generations. We’re blessed because of the faithfulness of His seed of purpose in us. Our purpose has God’s DNA locked within it and bears the imprint “to will and to do of His good pleasure”—packed full of divine superpowers to accomplish and prosper.
The ‘void’ we dug allows the supernatural power of God hovering over our life to further connect us to our purpose. If we create an inner holy habitation for the miraculous to manifest through us, then we participate in God’s finished works on Earth.
= GOD FILLS THE VOID
In Part I, God answered if it was too late to receive what He’d promised with another question: “Am I not the same yesterday, today and forever?” He also added an activation: “Dig the ditches and I will fill the void!”
What we’re really questioning—Is God’s promise for ‘me’ personally now? God gave an activation for our benefit, so we would know how we can always participate in what He’s accomplishing on Earth. Our need creates a ‘void’—a place for connection.
A woman believed what God spoke. She prayed—believing she could “dig a ditch and God would fill the void.” As she prayed, she saw the Shekinah Glory overshadow her daughter. God wanted the mother to know He already sealed her daughter’s conception—that everything would be okay. A few weeks later the pregnancy was confirmed. Thank You God!
= THE POWER THAT WORKS IN US
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever, Amen. ~EPH 3:20
Sometimes we ask God for our desires, and we feel He’s not hearing us. But, the ‘dunamis’ power of God that makes all things possible is always working in us. God blesses according to His highest and greatest good for us because He wants the very best for each of us.
Just as the Shekinah Glory overshadowed Mary and the promise filled her ‘void,’ we too can call out for God and expect His answer because God wants the best for us too. But we also must surrender to God’s ordained time for its manifestation in our life.
Mary created the ‘void’ by absolute surrender to what God wanted for her, saying, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be onto me according to Your Word.” Her surrender allowed her to participate in God’s divine intervention that would forever change the course of history.
Sometimes it’s easier to trust God if He first shows us a miraculous ‘sign’—like the mother who witnessed the Shekinah Glory descend on the daughter unable to conceive for years. Or, if we had a Word of Knowledge that proved true, like Mary heard about barren Elizabeth being six months pregnant. She quickly traveled to visit Elizabeth. It increased her faith that what the angel spoke to her would also happen.
= ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD
“With God nothing is impossible! …Let it be done unto me according to Your Word.”
~Luke 1:37-38
Manifesting the glory of God on Earth only happens through our surrender.
A man testified he had a condition that wouldn’t heal. He became convinced that if he “dug a ditch, God would fill the void.” He lifted his need/void up to God and spoke a simple prayer from his heart. He trusted God wanted the best for him, and ended his prayer with, “Let it be done unto me according to your word.”
He had been suffering, but he knew his ‘time had come!’ He testified that from the moment he ‘surrendered’ his ‘void’ to God’s will, to receive whatever God thought was best for him—he began to heal. Thank You God!
God wants us to be aware of our opportunities to participate in what He’s orchestrating on Earth—whether on a personal level or for the benefit of others. Our need creates a ‘void.’ If we recognize God’s ordained ‘time has come,’ then we’ll surrender to whatever God deems as best for us. “With God nothing is impossible!”
