“WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD” by Dickey Porter
Not long ago I heard a message from one of my favorite people that spoke to a group of people that were in a conference and many Pastors were there in attendance. During his sermon, he spoke about this very familiar story that is found in the book of Mark 5:22-43 and also Luke 8:41-56. It is the story of Jairus’ daughter and the woman with the issue of blood.
Before I get into what is on my heart about this story, let me say first of all that the Word of God is like a multifaceted diamond or gem. It can also be likened to an onion which has multilayers. God is manifold in his wisdom and the way that he speaks his word to his people so that they can “get” it and still keep it from the world, is through this layering revelation of truth. God doesn’t hide his secrets from us, but for us.
Truth comes line upon line, line upon line, precept upon precept, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little. This is how God speaks to his people. There are those that can only understand surface truth. But the hidden manna is what I desire and is what I seek.
With this being said, I will now begin to write what is upon my heart about the above Scripture story found in Mark and Luke’s gospel. When most preachers speak or teach about Jairus’ daughter and the woman with the issue of blood, it is taught as a lesson on faith and how our faith works and it is perfectly true. They point out what Jairus said about his little daughter who was at the point of death, and they point out what the woman with the issue of blood said if she could only touch the hem of his garment. We all know the end result of this story so I won’t belabor this as this isn’t the point of what is on my heart today.
The teaching on faith is surface truth. I am looking at the hidden manna, the revelation that is hidden from the world, but is now made manifest to his saints. The layer beneath the faith truth is one that hopefully will open our eyes and shake us from our slumber.
First of all, the number 12 is used both for Jairus’ daughter (her age) and is also the number of years that the woman with the issue of blood had been seeking help from many physicians. The woman hadn’t gotten any better, but rather grew worse, the Scripture tells us. The number 12 is a foundation number.
The church is always referred to in Scripture in the feminine gender, thus you can say that Jairus’ daughter and the woman with the issue of blood represents the church. One is the future generation and the other is the present day modern church. The church is also called the bride of Christ, we are married to Christ and so forth.
Jesus was on the way to heal and raise up the future generation of the church, but before he could do that, he was interrupted and had to heal the woman with the issue of blood, or the present day church.
The present day church has given our children and grandchildren no hope for the future. How could there be any hope for our future generations when all they hear from the modern day church in America is that Jesus is coming soon. He could come today. We are living in the last days and look at all the evil in the world. Jesus just has to come any minute now, so you better be ready to go in the rapture.
I feel the preacher coming on me, so I better calm down just a little bit.
Let me tell you who the many physicians are that the woman with the issue of blood had been going to and had given all that she had and was nothing better but rather grew worse. They are the denominations of religion that have divided God’s holy nation and have made us a mockery to the world. They have left us with no power or influence in the world. United we stand. Divided we fall.
There are over 2600 registered denominations in the United States alone, per Dr Mark Hanby. All using the same Bibles and basically saying that all others are going to hell if they don’t believe like they do. One denomination says that if you go to church on Sunday that you have taken the mark of the beast and are doomed. Others say that if you are not baptised like we baptise, then you are hell bound. This is pathetic.
“Come out of her my people that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues.” The clarion cry of the Spirit of God in Revelation 18:4 is pleading with the people of the modern day churches. God hates this religion because it robs us of our passion and our love.
I came out a long time ago and will never go back. The sad thing about this is that many in my family and so many of my friends think that I have back slidden and no longer serving God because I don’t “go” to church. I keep saying and I’ll say it again until you get it. I don’t “go” to church. “I AM” the church wherever I go.
I have never been closer to God than I am right now and never been happier since I got out of systematic religion and taken my place in the Kingdom of God. I am busy about my Father’s business and it is the one on one ministry that I do in my Kingdom assignment that gives me the greatest joy and fulfillment.
The Lord did minister to the multitudes from time to time, but so much of his earthly ministry was to individuals and the closeness that he experienced while on earth was to his few chosen ones. The very closest ones were fishermen. Peter, James, and John. Yes, Jesus went into the synagog from time to time, but most of the time he was outside the walls that divide so many people.
I am in a place in the Spirit where there are no walls. Nothing to separate me from people or my God. Why would I want to go back into a denomination and preach/teach a truth instead of the truth. Preaching a truth as the truth is heresy.
To wrap up what is on my heart today, let me say that Jesus is going to heal the present day church in order to raise up the next generation of believers. This healing will be painful for some. They will have to give up their “holy cows”. Others will know instantly that virtue has gone out of Jesus and into them and that they are healed. The woman was healed in the place of her intimacy and was then able, after her healing, to have relationship and bear children.
Lord Jesus, I know that this healing process has been going on in the church for quite some time now and I thank you that our brothers and sisters in Christ are going to be killed in like manner as we are right now. Thank you for your rest.
