“GOD QUIETLY INTERVENES” by Karen Roth
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
~ ISAIAH 65:24
God declared through the prophet Isaiah that He answers our prayers before they are even uttered. It’s the Father’s love and favor upon His people. Only God knows the end from the beginning and acts with such immediacy that we are blessed with His intervention—often without knowing any present danger.
Before they ever called out for a miracle, God was working one out for our son, Roger II and his wife, Becca. She delivered what the doctors named a ‘Miracle Baby.’ Every detail came together to make a happy outcome.
= BECCA’S STORY
Becca’s story is an amazing testimony of how God quietly intervenes in our life—most of the time working behind the scenes. She cited the amazing factors that came together for her to deliver a healthy baby:
EXPERIENCE: This was her third pregnancy and her third C-section was scheduled to be in 12 days. Normally, Becca has a ‘wait and see’ attitude, but this time something was different. She thought, ‘I should call the doctor’… so she did with no hesitation—all critical to the happy outcome!
TIMING also was a factor—it happened after the clinic closed on Good Friday. Therefore, Becca was directed to the hospital—so she was already at the best place for an emergency surgery!
MEDICAL TEST: When she was examined, they thought she’d be going home—that it was a false alarm. But her doctor took a test sample JUST IN CASE— more Divine GUIDANCE meant to keep mommy and baby alive!
= MIRACLE BABY
Roger II wrote about their ‘Good Friday’ experience: “…There were a lot of people in the room waiting to greet our little one. There was the anesthesiologist and I on the front side with Becca, and then one doctor and nurse for Mommy, one doctor and nurse for baby, and a surgical assistant.
“I had perfect viewing of both Becca and the operation. After working with their tools for about 5 minutes, Dr. Post said, ‘Roger, you have to see this.’ I had been watching, but had no idea what I was looking at until she explained it. She showed me a water sac the size of a half-dollar on the outside of Becca’s uterus, and then explained that there was a pin-sized hole in the uterine wall and part of the amniotic sac and some fluid pushed out.
“She then showed me the uterus and said it was so thin I could see right through it like a window – and I could! The doctors and nurses were all in amazement. ‘Unbelievable!’ ‘Incredible!’ ‘I don’t believe it!’ ‘Today we’re delivering a Miracle Baby!’ are some of the comments I remembered hearing.
“It wasn’t until later that the nurse explained to us how good it was that Theodore decided to arrive that day. A rupture in a uterine wall is life threatening for mother and child. From the moment it ruptures—there’s roughly a 30-minute window for delivery. Our home is 20 minutes from the hospital, and further away if she’d gone to the office first. Plus, she wouldn’t have known there was an urgency.
“We likely would never have delivered our son if Becca hadn’t gone to the hospital because she had a ‘gut feeling’—I could have lost my wife and son. We are so grateful and thankful that God, who is in total control of our lives and knows all things, blessed us with our little 7lb 5oz gift on Good Friday. Theodore means ‘Gift from God’”
= DIVINE ORCHESTRATION
God orchestrated every detail so quietly that unless they were told Theodore was a miracle—they’d never consider looking for how God GUIDED every step along the way to his delivery. Never once during the C-section did they fear the worst could happen—God hid it from them. Thank You God!
God quietly intervenes in everyone’s life. We truly are grateful, and especially when He lets us see Him at work … and whenever we see His Hand in operation—we praise Him!
Sometimes bad things happen and there’s nothing we can do about it. It is what it is. We surrender to a God Who is higher than us. We trust God Who quietly works everything out according to His greater plan of the ages.
= DIVINE GUIDANCE
However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. ~JOHN 16:13
Our desire for God’s GUIDANCE means we seek His wisdom and direction. The more we become God-conscious, the stronger our ability develops in perceiving God’s intervention in what’s happening. In other words, the more we surrender to God’s guidance by obeying/ensuing/following His direction, the more reliable/greater/clearer we become in what to do or say, etc.
Those who sense God become more perceptive of HOW God speaks to them. At first, it may seem too natural to be spiritual, such as the ‘gut feeling’ my daughter-in-law experienced. But through her experiences, she learned that it’s how God communicates with her. It’s helping her make wise decisions.
Are you seeking Divine Guidance? How does God communicate with you?
